Common questions

Don't see yours? Call 647-739-6564 for straight answers, no runaround.

Do you really give free quotes?

Yes, every job, every time. We look at the work, explain what's involved in plain language, and give you a price before we touch a wire. You approve it before any work starts, and there are no surprise line items on the invoice.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. New Season Electrical is an ECRA/ESA-licensed electrical contractor (Licence #7019085) carrying $5,000,000 in general liability insurance. In Ontario, only a licensed electrical contractor can legally do this work, and you can verify our licence any time through the ESA's public contractor lookup.

Is your work guaranteed?

Every job is backed by a 1-year workmanship warranty on top of any manufacturer warranties on the parts we install. If something we did isn't right, we come back and make it right. No charge, no argument.

Do you offer 24/7 emergency service?

Yes. We're on call around the clock, every day of the year, for homes and businesses across Toronto and the GTA. Whether it's no power, sparking, a burning smell, or a restaurant cooler down overnight, call the main number at any hour and you reach us, not a voicemail. We triage on the phone for free and tell you honestly whether it can wait or we should come now.

Do I need a permit for electrical work in Ontario?

Most electrical work, including panel upgrades, new circuits, and rewiring, requires a notification filed with the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA), and much of it gets inspected. We handle the paperwork and the inspection on every job that needs one, so the work behind your walls is documented and provable.

How quickly can you come out?

Most scheduled jobs are booked within the same week, and we confirm every request by phone within one business day. For emergencies, we're on call 24/7. If it's no power, a burning smell, a breaker that won't stay on, or commercial equipment down, call directly, any hour, and we'll prioritize it.

Is knob-and-tube or aluminum wiring really a problem?

Often, yes. Many insurers won't cover homes with knob-and-tube, and aluminum branch wiring from the late '60s and '70s can be a fire risk at connections. We assess what you actually have, explain your options, and handle full or partial remediation with ESA inspection, which is usually what insurers want to see.

How much does a panel upgrade cost?

It depends on your current service, the panel location, and what your home needs, which is exactly why the quote is free. We'll assess it, give you a firm price up front, and you approve it before any work begins. No estimates that balloon later.

Can you install EV chargers?

Yes. EV charger installation is one of our most common jobs. That includes the load calculation to confirm your panel can handle it, a panel or service upgrade if it can't, the dedicated circuit, and the ESA notification.

Which areas do you serve?

All of Toronto and the greater GTA, from Oshawa in the east to Burlington in the west, and north through York Region to Newmarket, Caledon, and Halton Hills. If you're near the GTA but don't see your town listed, ask. Chances are we cover you.

Do you take small jobs?

Absolutely. A single dead outlet, one new light fixture, a dryer plug: no job is too small, and small jobs get the same licensed, warrantied work as a full rewire. Many of our biggest projects started with a customer who called us for something small first.
